Welding
The two major types of welding, arc and gas, are performed using several configurations of joining. The T, butt, and lap joints are demonstrated using manual and automatic equipment. The automatic equipment shown is very expensive but can be justified on large pieces and mass production. Another electrical form of welding, electron beam welding, is performed within a vacuum chamber. This process involves bombarding the workpiece with a large number of high-velocity electrons. EBW is used only when other more conventional processes fail or are impractical. Length: 14 minutes. Order #155
