Genium Publishing Corporation has introduced a new website, www.genium.com/draftingzone, which provides access to the essential drawing standards practices, routines, and solutions.

The Drafting ZONE is a handy online assembly of the most commonly used mechanical and electrical drafting standards information and practical experience. The Drafting ZONE helps drafters, design engineers and anyone who must read engineering drawings, establish a level of consistency through standard techniques, formats, and terminology.

The Drafting ZONE is an extension of Genium's popular Modern Drafting Practices and Standards Manual.

Mr. Gary Whitmire, is the Technical Director, of the new Drafting ZONE and the Drafting Manual. Mr. Whitmire is a nationally known authority on application and interpretation of the drawing and design standards, has over 35 years experience in engineering documentation and served as a member of the AMSE Y14 committee. He has been actively involved with the Y14.5 committee on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT).

Mr. Whitmire is also responsible for the Drafting Manual's Updating Service, which provides subscribers on a regular basis with up-to-date content on drawing standardization. The first update under Mr. Whitmire's command addresses Multi-View and Sectional-View Drawings. The new information in this update also interprets the latest ASME standard addressing Types and Applications of Engineering Drawings.
