Explanation
By default, EIGRP uses 50% of a link's configured bandwidth. Special care should be taken when running EIGRP over serial interfaces as a serial interface's bandwidth is considered by default by EIGRP to be 1.554 Mbps. The bandwidth command under the interface should always be used to configure the link speed when configuring EIGRP.

Note that bandwidth use can be modified with the eigrp bandwidth-percent interface configuration command.
