Ken Chipps has been working on his own computers since he was quoted a
price of $800 for the installation of a 160 Kbps, single-sided, 5.25-inch,
floppy disk drive for the first computer he bought in 1982. Now,
as an Associate Professor of Network and Communications Management at
the Dallas campus of DeVry University, he teaches students all about
data networks. Before teaching, he was a Network Analyst for the State
of Texas. His current research interests are wireless networks in all
their forms including radio frequency systems that operate both inside
and outside, as well as free space optics methods of connection. Ken
holds the A+, Network+, Linux System Administrator, Unix System
Administrator, CNE, and CCNA certifications.
When not working on computers and data networks, Ken enjoys speed events
on horseback, such as barrel racing, with his wife. What else would you
expect from a Native Texan?
